What is The Gathering looking for in successful candidates?

The Gathering hires based on the 4 C’s of ministry hiring practices: Character (able to meet the requirements of pastoral leadership in our church constitution and denomination), Chemistry (a strong relational fit with the current team), Culture (able to fit in with the unique church culture, vision, and values of The Gathering), and Competency (has a proven behavioural track record of successfully performing the job requirements).

Full-Time Positions

Associate Pastor:
The Gathering is looking for a senior level pastor willing to be a strong 2nd at our growing church. A person with strong problem solving skills that is intrinsically motivated when they see issues that need to be addressed, a heart for people and pastoral care, a proven ability to coach and oversee staff, a desire to disciple people through Home Churches, and an ability to lead the production of Sunday morning (including facility and equipment needs).

Part-Time Positions

Lead Children’s Pastor:
The Gathering is looking for someone who loves Jesus and children to write children’s curriculum based on Sunday mornings message, run the administrative component of our children’s ministry, oversee the children’s staff and volunteers, and teach a group of the children on Sunday mornings (12.5 hours per week).

Youth Pastor:
The Gathering is looking for someone with a passionate love for Jesus and calling to youth ministry willing to lead a team of volunteers to reach out to youth in our community (12 hours per week).

Maternity Leave Positions

Part-Time Worship Pastor – Starting March 2012:
We are looking for someone with the ability to lead corporate worship (using an instrument, speaking, and singing). This person must be a strong leader, able to work with a variety of people on the worship team (15 hours per week).

Full-Time Administrative Pastor – Starting June 2012 to September 2013:
We are looking for someone with strong administrative gifting’s who is able to research, organize, and execute a variety of projects, events, and tasks at the same time. This person will also work as the executive assistant to the lead pastor meeting weekly deadlines for Sunday mornings. The person will need to have a working proficiency or aptitude for learning computer programs including but not limited to: Adobe Suite, letter me later, microsoft office suite, and Google documents.
