We are all part of God’s family. Some may be estranged from the family, but we are all His kids. He desires for all of us to know Him in a personal way as dad (our Heavenly Father). So, there are two families this value is speaking to; own biological family units, and the universal family of Christ followers. Our verse for this value is Deuteronomy 6:6-7: "These commandments that I am giving you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." The ideas is that the spiritually mature will pass the batton of faith down to the next generation in modeling and spiritual conversation wherever they find themselves. With everyone learning about the same thing on Sundays at the Gathering regardless of your age (in a service designed for your age group), family lunch questions and home church questions can start the dialogue for spiritual conversation on these topics.
How We Will Strive To Equip You To Build Spiritual Relationships In Your Families …
Simultaneous generation-specific Sunday services on the same sermon topic. We will start with kids and adult services with the dream of adding a youth service. We will connect with each generation through the use of media, pop-culture, and issues related to their life stage. In the weekly bulletin, 3 questions will be provided for families to discuss the topic over lunch that day. Home Church questions will also be in the bulletin for more mature believers at Home Church to lead less mature believers into a deeper understanding of their faith.
