You may not see yourself as being someone to stand up front and teach others. Tinkering with technology, however, gets you excited. Have you considered joining our Audio/Visual Crew? Here at the Gathering we believe that technology can really make the message of God relevant and people who have knowledge in this aspect of service are an integral part of our church. Does running live sound (PA) interest you? We can always use volunteers in setting up and running our sound system on Sunday mornings. Maybe you are just curious and want to know more about this kind of “stuff”. We invite you to be a part of this team, serving and learning at the same time. Are you familiar with current worship songs and PowerPoint technology? We need people that are willing to help the visual display of videos and our worship songs as the band leads for the whole congregation to participate. Another area of technology we implement is recording of the services on Sunday morning, on our professional HD video camera. If this area of production interests you, we would be more than happy to have you come on board as part of our team. Depending on availability, we would love to include you in special ‘gathering productions’ on the side as well. For more information and to let us know of your interest in this area of service, please fill out the “Contact Us” form below and indicate in what area you are interested in serving, or email email@example.com.
If you play an instrument or love to sing karaoke, you may be a fit for our worship team. We are looking for people that want to partner their gifts in music with their passion for worshiping Jesus Christ in song music. This volunteer position in the church falls under our genuine relationships with Christ value. Please contact our Worship Pastor for more information about a try out for our worship team at the church.
We are looking for people that want to invest in the lives of people at the church when they need our help the most.At some point in everyone’s life, there comes a time where we need a little extra help. This ministry falls under our spiritual relationships in our families value, by providing meals to people’s homes in our church every second day for 10 days at these times of crisis or hardship. It may be the death of a loved one, an operation, a new baby being born in the family, a deep depression, or something else that requires a helping hand, but your meals and loving prayers make a major difference in the lives of the people in crisis at the church. You can make a significant difference in someone else’s life by just preparing twice what you’d normally make at dinner. Send us a note using the Contact Us button below, or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in making meals for people at the church.
We are looking for people who are fun and enthusiastic about fulfilling our goal at ‘The Gathering’ to build relationships with our community. We want people who desire to make others feel welcome and to help people connect to others on Sundays at our larger celebration services (kids and adults).
By volunteering for this position and making ‘The Gathering’ a warm and inviting place to come to, you will play an integral part in helping us to meet our mission: to build authentic relationships with our community. Send us a note using the Contact Us button below or email our Greeting Leader.
Got the gift of hospitality? Love to open up your home for get-togethers? Hosting a small group in your home may be the area of service in the church that you can assist us in. We are always looking for hosts for our home churches, people who are ready to open up their living room once a week to a group that is focused on taking the message from Sunday further by applying it to their lives. If you are seriously considering being a host for a home church, fill out the “Contact Us” form below and indicate your desire to serve in this capacity, or email email@example.com. A member of the leadership in the church will return your email and discuss your willingness to host a group.
Got the gift of teaching? Desiring to disciple and pour into the lives of the people attending our church? Leading a home church may be a path you would like to consider as an agent of spiritual growth within The Gathering. The concept of “Home Church” is one of our core values, and over 60% of our adult congregation attends a home church. Leading a group involves pastoring the people you are in charge of: it will require that you have a host, a co-leader, and people that would like to attend. If you are interested in leading a home church, fill out the “Contact Us” form below and indicate your desire to serve in this capacity, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. A member of the leadership in the church will return your email, discussing a plan for starting up a new group with a co-leader and a host, and will help walk you through our training procedure.
We are looking for people who are fun and enthusiastic about our goal at ‘The Gathering’ to build relationships with Christ and others. We want our coffee house on Sundays to be more than just a place to get a free coffee; we want it to be a place where people connect with others in meaningful ways and begin to question and think about Sunday’s sermon topic. By creating a welcoming place where people are introduced to others in a non-threatening environment and by fostering discussion on the week’s topic, you are helping us to meet our goals of building relationships with Christ and our community. If you like coffee and are interested in helping out with this ministry, fill out the “Contact Us” form below and indicate your desire to serve in this capacity, or contact our Java Team Leader. A member of the leadership in the church will return your email and discuss it with you.
We are looking for people who are fun and enthusiastic about our Kids. Our Kids Gatherings are at the very heart of our vision for the church. We are looking for 3 different types of people:
1. We are looking for people who have the spiritual gift of helps or service, love kids, and are willing to do whatever it takes on a bi-weekly basis on Sunday mornings to see our vision for kids flourish.
2. We are also looking for people who have the spiritual gift of leadership or teaching and would be willing to lead an illustration or game or do a small teaching.
3. Finally, we are looking for people who can sing along with the kids worship DVDs and make worship exciting for them.
For more information, contact our Children’s Pastor. Additionally, you will be required to fill out these two applications before becoming a volunteer (the Volunteer Application is included in the Plan To Protect Manual, along with other necessary forms):
Working behind the scenes is one of the most important group of volunteers – the setup crew. These individuals set up the signs, chairs, sound equipment, and do whatever it takes to get the school facility we meet in ready for the Sunday morning service. If you feel like you want to make a difference and are not big on being up front or teaching others, this is a perfect opportunity for you to minister. Really, without this crew, Sundays wouldn’t happen and that makes this group of people integral to the success of our church. Fill out the “Contact Us” form below or email email@example.com and indicate your interest in being a part of this team.
